These songs are in the self-titled album "Haleh."

Born in Teheran, Iran during the islamic revolution, Haleh Nasiri arrived in Belgium at the age of 8 years along with her mother and her sister. She studied Graphic Design before starting her musical career. Her music is a mix of mixing eastern and western culture with electronic to make up a type of Iranian Trip-hop. Some of her musical influences are Portishead, Massive Attack, Rita Mitsouko, Shakira, Noa, Radiohead, Googoosh and Haydeh.

Connan Mockasin - New Zealand Psychedelic Pop

Forever Dolphin Love - Connan Mockasin from daniel brereton on Vimeo.

Both songs are found in the two album.

The album "Forever Dolphin Love" has been released on March 28, 2011, and it is getting great reviews. Connan Mockasin is, Connan Hosford, former singer of the blues-pop band called Connan and the Mockasins. His voice has been described as very unique and almost childlike, and his new alum takes us to the inner most depth of his imagination.

The album falls somewhere between fantasy and reality, innocence and wisdom, pop music and an art form as yet unnamed.www.roughtrade.com

What Sandie was listening to... March Edition

Songs
154
length
10:04:25

As many already know I listen to tons of music. I make up a playlist of all the songs I liked for the month. Normally, you will find one song from every album I enjoyed. Not a new concept, but it's a great way to keep track of new artist and albums. Also, not every song here is from the month of March, but most are.

I couldn't have done this alone if it was not for the many people I follow on Rdio, music I'm suggested to listen to by friends, articles I read, and the tons of internet snooping I do.

Well, not quite March, but found in this playlist:
Keren Ann - 101 - Feb 25, 2011
Lykke Li - Wounded Rhymes - Feb 28, 2010
Devotchka - 100 Lovers - Feb 28, 2011

In March some good album out there like:
Acrylics - Lives and Treasure  - Mar 1, 2011
Alexander - Alexander  - Mar 1, 2011
Ellie Goulding - Lights  - Mar 8, 2011
Wye Oak - Civilian - Mar 8, 2011
Rival Schools - Pedals - Mar 4, 2011
The Rural Alberta Advantage - Departing - Mar 1, 2011
Anr - Stay Kids - Mar 15, 2011
Wolf Gang - Wolf Gang EP - Mar 15, 2011
Yelle - Safari Disco Club - Mar 29, 2011

Valleys - Amazing Atmospheric Pop

Valleys | 10 000 Hours | A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.

My favorite song from the "Stoner" Ep.

A song from their first album “Sometimes Water Kills People”

This is a Montreal-based trio, Valleys. Their music is enriched with bold experimentation of psychedelic folk and haunting melodies. This results in a type of atmospheric pop that conveys the beautiful mystery of the Valleys' music. Their official debut album, “Sometimes Water Kills People”, was released on Semprini Records in September 2009. Then followed by the "Stoner" Ep that was released on November 2010. This year Valleys part of the film and music festival South by Southwest (SXSW).

Marc St Louis
